Do You Hear Me? is a new album of orchestral music by Canadian composer, David Carovillano. Featuring music that ranges from poignant and lyrical to intense and aggressive, Do You Hear Me? has been many years in the making. Its title hints at the challenge facing current-day composers: getting music into the hands of orchestras/conductors, as well as finding an audience in a world of over-stimulation and content saturation. Do You Hear Me? demonstrates my resolve to follow my inner voice, in spite of the perils, hardships, and solitude that are inevitable in the life of a composer.
In addition to the title track, Do You Hear Me? features a stunning and dramatic 5 movement orchestral suite, Forces of Nature. Other works on the album include Intellection, Fantasia, inspired by Disney’s Golden Age, and a tone poem based on “ashes to ashes, dust to dust”, What Will Become of Us?
