String Quartet No. 2: This neo-classical work in 4 movements is inspired by the quartets of Beethoven and Brahms, while also introducing modern harmonic and rhythmic elements to create a work that is a fusion of
traditional technique and modern flair.
String Quartet No. 3 - Apotheosis: Themes of intense bravura, sorrowful longing, mysterious passion, and tempetuous energy haunt the composer's mind. Like a novelist whose characters take over to dictate how the story will unfold, the composer becomes a mere vessel for this thematic material to express itself; the themes quarrelling in his head, each demanding an opportunity to weave its story, to prove it is the theme truly worthy of "Apotheosis". This string quartet was commissioned by the Odin Quartet with funding support from the Ontario Arts Council.
String Quartet No. 4 - Stages of Grief, is a 7 movement work that chronicles the emotional stages we go through when dealing with loss. Filled with intensely aggressive themes, pensive serenity, and everything in between, String Quartet No. 4 - Stages of Grief appears on the new album, "Lost In It - 4 Quartets for Virtual Strings" by David Carovillano.
